Oktoberfest Germny 2007

pictures of beerstein at oktoberfest One of the biggest festivals in the world is Munich Germany's Oktoberfest and what trip to Germany would be complete without expirenceing this world famous celebration. Be careful when making your travel plans. When is Oktoberfest? This may sound like a ridiculous question but the answer may surprise you. Oktoberfest in Germany actually takes place in September because the October fall weather can be brutal. The first ever Octoberfest was held in 1810 to celebrate a royal wedding with beer, horse racing, and food. Well, the German beer was the most popular attraction at Octoberfest and the festival continued and evolved to what you can expirence today.

Octoberfest starts with an elaborate opening ceremony of sorts with the mayor arriving by horse-drawn cart. All of the men are in traditional German coustume complete with their lederhosen and the world wide party is begun when the mayor taps the first keg and shouts "o'zapfts is". Octoberfest is a sixteen day long festival can be overwhelming so maybe just plan to stay a few days and sample the beer, ride the carnival rides, and enjoy some of the best German food. What better way to feel like a true German than to raise your beer stein at Oktoberfest in Germany? Learn more at Oktoberfest.com.

While Oktoberfest in Germany is all about beer drinking, it really can be a family event. The people are friendly and the atmosphere is safe so you can bring your children along to listen to the bands or hear the storytellers. Storytelling in Germany has deep roots in Germany with many fairytales originating in Germany. Oktobrfest really is a celebration of all things German.

Augustiner, Hacker-Pschorr, Hofbrau, Lowenbrau, Paulaner and Spaten are official beers of Germany Oktoberfest, since all brew or bottle beer within the city limits of Munich. Other German brewers of similar festbiers include Ayinger and Beck's of Bremen.

Oktoberfest 2007 promises to be another terrific season. Airfare to Germany Oktoberfest is robust this year so deals are not as good as they have been in the past. With that said, some careful planning or schedule flexibility will allow you to get a relatively good deal if you are planning on going to Munich or Berlin for Octoberrfest in Germany.

Kacy first off you need to learn how to type. Secondly, I too am 50% German and look forward to visiting every couple of years... it is a fun and educational place for anyone who chooses to go. Thirdly, I don\'t understand why you would post such a comment just after you place a positive note. Are you mentally ok? Or maybe it is because you want to just hear yourself.
