RESTAURANTS
First of all, you will need to pay for drinking water in Germany. Your water will also be carbonated unless you specifically ask for it without in which case they will pour you water from a tap. YOU WILL STILL BE CHARGED FOR IT! If you want ketchup on your McDonalds you will end up paying for that too. If you do stop into an American chain restaurant in Germany you will notice that the food is a little bit different in taste and size (smaller). Don't wait to be seated in a restaurant in Germany. Seat yourself and tip modestly as waiters get paid handsomely in Germany. 2-3 Euros is fine.
"BAD" TOWNS
You may see a street sign with the name "Bad" Dusseldorf in front of it. This does not mean that there is something wrong witht the town but rather it is actually a very healthy town in terms of clean air, water, streets, etc. "Bad" in Germany is "Good."
